MUD HOUSE TO BLOCK HOUSE PROJECT UNDER WAY-LIBERIAN PRESIDENT
Former professional football player and current president of the Republic of Liberia, George Oppong Weah has started a massive project of improving the dwelling place of less deprived people in his country.
The president who declared all public universities in Liberia free tuition has started his vision of transforming the standard of living of rural dwellers precisely by upgrading their homes from mud brick homes to concrete homes has been implemented.
The west African country covers an area of 111,369 square kilometers (43,000 sq mi) and has a population of around 4,700,000 people.
According the president, he is not perturbed by the size of the country, economic growth and how dense the population is made up of, since the hardship rural dwellers goes through is really on his heart, he will accomplish his vision of improving human life.
He said, he started the developmental project with Sasstown development project and in an effort to avoid demolition of the existing homes of his citizens which will actually render them homeless during the construction period, He has devised a strategic plan. That is, he will build a new house at a different location and once the construction is done, they can then move into the newly constructed homes while he demolish the old houses for them to engage in agricultural practice with his support in other to boost economic growth of Liberia.
